AI for compliance teams: give staff answers they can trace to a source
Trovify Team · · 2 min read
For compliance-driven businesses, an AI assistant is only useful if every answer is correct and traceable to a source. A grounded assistant answers staff questions strictly from your uploaded policies and procedures, shows the source document for each answer, and explicitly refuses to guess when a question isn't covered — so a confidently-stated wrong answer, the failure mode that matters most in a regulated environment, doesn't happen.
Why generic chatbots are a risk here
In a compliance context, the cost of an invented answer isn't a minor inconvenience — it can be a process violation or an audit finding. A generic chatbot that generates fluent text from training data will sound just as confident when it's wrong. That's the opposite of what a compliance team needs.
Grounded answers, with a source every time
A grounded assistant retrieves from your own policy documents and procedures, and builds each answer from those passages with a citation. If a staff member asks which form to submit or which procedure to follow and the documents don't cover it, the assistant says so rather than improvising. Each answer names the source policy it was drawn from, so staff can see exactly which document the answer came from.
Keeping rules current
Policies change. When you re-upload an updated document, the new version supersedes the old one, so answers reflect current rules. You can also add corrections directly with "teach the bot" — without re-uploading — for quick fixes.
Visibility into what was asked
The dashboard surfaces the questions staff asked most and the ones your documents didn't cover (knowledge gaps), so you can see where your written procedures need to be clearer.
Getting started
Upload your policies and procedures, then deploy on your intranet or internal portal with a one-line script embed — no IT build required.
